Minimum Equipment List (MEL)

Displaying / editing existing MELs (Minimum Eqipment Lists)

To show existing MELs, click on ‚MELs‘ in the eFlightLog backend to show all Minimum Equipment Lists (MELs) stored in your database.

To display or edit an existing MEL, click on the ‚edit‘ link to the left of the MEL title. The main parameters of the MEL (Owner Name, Aircraft Type, Issue Number, Revision Number, Date, Approbation Status) are displayed and can be edited here.

Below the section for the main parameters, all details are listed. To edit a detail, click on the ‚edit‘ link to the left of the detail. At the end of the details section, all active aircraft are listed, with a checkbox to indicate which aircraft have this MEL assigned.

MEL Uploader

New MELs can be imported from Excel, using the template provided. Click on ‚MEL Uploader‘ in the left Menu to open the MEL Uploader menu.

Download the example MEL excel file, edit the contents to correspond to your current directives and save it in a local directory. Be sure not to change cell arrangement, do NOT add or delete columns or change their order. Chapter details must always be preceded by the chapter title, as in the example. If you are missing a title in the example, please use (copy/paste) the chapter title from sheet 2 of the example MEL. If you do not save the maximum repair delays for items with category A in the excel, you will be prompted to do so in a later step.

Select your updated MEL excel, choose an aircraft and click on ‚Start Upload‚. If the MEL exists already, a message is shown. If the upload was successful, the contents of the file are shown. Click on ‚Next‘ to continue. If any maximum repair delays for items with category A are missing, you will be prompted to enter them now. Click on ‚Import to Database‘ to continue.

In the last step, you are asked to confirm the allocation of the new MEL to aircraft. If you wish to use the same MEL for other aircraft, activate the corresponding checkbox(es) before clicking on ‚Finalize‘. After finalizing the import process, click on ‚Show the result‘ to display the MEL and details (see Displaying / editing existing MELs above)
