Flight Type

The FlightType steers the display of Customer, Instructor, Instruction Type or Safety Pilot in FlightLogs. The FlightType defaults to the flight type set in ‘Before flight’ or in the previous leg, but can be set/changed individually for each leg.

The default Flight Types are VC, VS, VP and VT.

You can add new Flight Types, taking the following into account:
The first character of a Flight Type must be

  • V‚ (VFR – visual flight rules), or
  • I‚ (IFR – instrument flight rules)

The second character (Flight Type Tag) has a special function, if it is a C, S or P:

  • C‚ (Commercial):
Safety Pilot selection is enabled in FlightAssistant step 3 – Before Flight (Helicopters only).
The customer select or an input for customer name / address is displayed in FlightAssistant step 6 – Completion.
A Customer Signature is not required.
  • S‚ (Schooling):
Instructor and Instruction Type selection is enabled in FlightAssistant step 3 – Before Flight.
The customer select or an input for customer name / address is displayed and a Customer Signature is required in FlightAssistant step 6 – Completion.
  • P‚ (Private):
Safety Pilot selection is enabled in FlightAssistant step 3 – Before Flight (Helicopters only).
The customer select or an input for customer name / address is displayed and a Customer Signature is required in FlightAssistant step 6 – Completion.
  • T‚ (Technical):
No special functions. No Instructor, Instruction Type, Safety Pilot or Customer selection.

You can use other letters or even numbers as second character in your special Flight Types but they will cause the same behaviour as ‚T‘ (Technical).
