If you find any defects or damages to your aircraft, or if something is not working as expected, you must create a Defect | Damage | Anomaly Report to inform CAMO and Maintenance. For ease of reading, the term Discrepancy will be used for Defect | Damage | Anomaly in the following text.
Click on the Report Defect | Damage button in FlightAssistant step 3 – Before Flight or in step 5 – After Flight or in the FlightLog form itself.
First, you must decide if the Discrepancy is in the Minimum Equipment List (MEL). Click on ‚Search MEL‚ and choose an entry from the list in ‚Item‘. Filter the entries in the list by entering a text in the ‚Search‘ input or by choosing ATA-Group and/or ATA-Chapter.
If you have found a MEL item for your Discrepancy, note the instructions shown and the deadline for rectification (how many days/hours flight time/landings before due), and click on ‚Transfer Item‚ to transfer it to your report. Depending on the rectification deadline, you may have to return directly to your home base for repairs.
If your item is not in MEL, click on cancel to exit the MEL-search and choose ‚No‘ as answer to ‚is your item in MEL?‘.
Add a description and, if possible, a photo by clicking on ‚Add Files‘ – on a mobile device you are asked if you want to upload files or photos – choose ‚Photos‘ to take a new Photo, ‚Files‘ if the Photo has already been taken.
If your item is in MEL, your report is already categorized as MEL. If your item is not in MEL, your report remains uncategorised (‚undefined‘) in the HIL until a Technician with B1 authorisation sets the discrepancy category and the deadline for rectification.
When you sign the Discrepancy Report, the item is transferred to the Hold Item List (HIL) and a warning is displayed, advising you on how to proceed.
The Discrepancy Report is sent immediately by email to CAMO and Maintenance and is shown as ‚open‘ in the HIL | Deferred Item List and the ‚Discrepancies‚ page.
Only continue your flight if your item is in the MEL or IF YOU ARE 100% SURE THAT THE DISCREPANCY DOES NOT AFFECT AIRWORTHINESS!! Otherwise please contact CAMO / Maintenance and ask for assistance! The discrepancy can be categorised and a transfer to HIL authorised in real time by CAMO while you wait.
The transfer to HIL must be authorised by a B1 technician by setting the discrepancy category to ‚deferred‚ or ‚A.O.G.‚ (if not ‚MEL‚ already), setting the deadline(s) for rectification, entering the action to be taken and signing ‚CAMO Visum‘ to authorise the transfer.
Click on the current ‚Step‘-Button to refresh FlightAssistant after changes have been made by CAMO / Maintenance.
